At Mary Our Queen Catholic School, we are committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of our students well beyond the classroom walls. Our Extended Care Program is an important part of this mission, providing children with a safe, supportive, and engaging environment after the school day ends.
We are excited to announce that we are currently seeking assistants for our after-school Extended Care program. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a difference in their lives.
Why Join Extended Care?
Extended Care runs from 3:00–6:00 PM on school days, with additional hours available during school breaks and in the summer. It’s an ideal position for:
-
Retirees looking to stay active in a joyful environment.
-
College students seeking flexible, part-time hours.
-
Parents or parishioners who love working with children.
-
Anyone interested in earning a little extra income while serving our school community.
What the Role Involves
As an assistant, you will help provide a positive experience for our students—keeping them safe, encouraging them in play and activities, and supporting them as they transition from the school day into their afternoon routine. No prior experience is required; we will provide training and support. This position offers a competitive wage of $15.50 per hour, making it both a meaningful and rewarding way to spend your afternoons.
Qualifications include:
-
Completion of Safe Environment Training (provided if needed).
-
Willingness to complete DHHS-required training.
-
Ability to follow directions and contribute to a fun, faith-filled team.
-
Previous experience with children is helpful, but not required.
A Ministry of Care and Presence
Our Extended Care program is licensed by the Nebraska DHHS and offers a competitive salary. More importantly, it is a ministry of presence—an opportunity to serve our students with patience, joy, and faith.
If you feel called to join our Extended Care team, we invite you to reach out! Please contact Ashley Rosenthal, Extended Care Director, at arosenthal@moqschool.org or 402-333-2511 for more information.
Together, let’s continue to make Mary Our Queen a place where every child feels cared for, supported, and loved.
