Transitional Kindergarten Curriculum

At the heart of our curriculum is a focus on whole-child development, ensuring that children grow not only in knowledge but also in confidence, independence, and compassion. Through a blend of structured activities and play-based learning, students are introduced to early literacy, language, math, science, and social studies concepts in engaging and meaningful ways. Small class sizes allow for one-on-one and small group instruction.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Language and Literacy Development: Encouraging listening, speaking, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and love for stories and books.
  • Mathematical Thinking: Developing number sense, counting, sorting, pattern recognition, and simple hands-on problem-solving.
  • Social and Emotional Learning: Building interpersonal skills, self-regulation, empathy, and positive relationships through cooperative learning and classroom routines.
  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills: Enhancing coordination and motor control through hands-on activities, art, music, and physical play.
  • Faith and Character Education: Introducing age-appropriate spiritual development and values such as kindness, gratitude, and respect.

Our TK curriculum aligns with early learning standards and serves as a strong foundation for the academic and social demands of kindergarten.

Why Choose MOQ Early Education Programs?

MOQ School is accredited by the state of Nebraska as well as Cognia, an advanced accreditation program. We nurture the spiritual, social, and intellectual growth of our young learners through engaging learning experiences guided by our knowledgeable and dedicated teaching staff.

Our preschool programs are led by talented teachers.  Our Early childhood-endorsed teachers create hands-on learning experiences that deepen a child’s confidence while developing kindergarten readiness skills through play and a focus on specific academic goals. Our school also provides onsite counselors and learning specialists.

Our new Preschool building has its own atrium specifically prepared for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based faith formation curriculum for children ages 3-6. Lessons in the atrium are designed to awaken religious wonder and contemplation in the child while giving him or her a strong foundation in the Bible and Catholic liturgical practices. Each child will participate in daily prayers, such as “Our Father”, “Hail Mary”, “Holy Mary”, “Glory Be”, “Angel of God”, and “Meal Prayers”. Students will reflect daily about the world around them and understand God’s creations and love for them.

Our preschool programs are designed with options for families. Enroll your child in our program for up to five days per week or as few as two days. Children may attend half days or full days. There is also Extended Care for before and after school. The MOQ Extended Care program offers flexible, dependable, and nurturing before and after-school childcare for students.
